Hi all,

I don't know if this by design or if can do something about it, so here it goes..
I have noticed that almost 50% of the tracks played each day is overlapping.

Is there a way to increase the variety that my station is playing?
Does this happen cause my station is fresh (1000 track limit) and the fact that i got different genres (which limits the number of tracks per clock)?

Thanks,
Anekos

Hello,

Try to set a higher repeat constraint for the titles on your boxes.

For example, if you have 10 hours of music in a box and this box is used for 3 hours per day in your program, set a title repeat constraint of 4000 (approximatively 3 days)
Check the generation logs after changing the constraints: click on GENERATED on the planning calendar, then on Logs and make sure there is no error.

Thanks for the recommendation.
I think my problem come from the fact that my station has the 1000 track limit.
I tried to increase the track interval as much as it allowed to generate a daily planning, but still the amount of duplicates both on the same and adjacent days is a lot.
I will wait till the limit increases to 3000 tracks :)

No doubt. If your tracks average 3 minutes in length (mine do) you will have 20+ tracks per hour or 480 per day or 960 every two days. At best each track will play every other day.

the key is not to play the same song at the same time of day. For example, if you play a song at 8 am, the next day that song should play at 9 am, and the next day at 10 am, like so for every song. that way you have a good chance your listeners will not hear too many repeats (as listeners usually tune at the same time each day, more or less)
Not saying you can do this on Radionomy, but live it's possible

It is fairly possible on Radionomy if you specify boxes of the right size and intervals greater than 1440 minutes in each one (i.e. a 500-song box with an interval of 1673 minutes and artist repeat of 50 minutes), then the songs will seem fairly shuffled to the average listener and have enough of an offset that it won't sound the same every day.
