I am Stuart Rogerson, I live in Scotland. I have many passions in music. I have been broadcasting for many years on the Internet. I don't know if I am allowed to say where or not? I started on Live 365. I currently run two radio stations elsewhere on Sky.FM and JazzRadio.com. These are early Jazz and Big Band Stations and have been up and running for years. I came across Radionomy when I was seeking a new challenge. I wanted to explore the music of my youth between 1967 and 1973 and control all aspects of the broadcast.

That is what I am doing here and loving it. I was also attracted to the fact that Radionomy is based in Belgium my favourite and most explored country.

I am not young! I am a Grandfather of 4.

I love Radionomy. It is exciting and fresh. The English translations are a bit strange good job I have a little French.

Finally I promote my station on The Roku having created a radio channel. I am happy to share how to do this with anyone who needs help.

Hi Stuart :)

Don't worry we are all, "young"

I am also "not a kid" and "not so young" :) Even if I am not already grand dad...It may happens soon..who knows?

So you're not alone... Radionomy needs "mature" and experimented people for creating radios to all categories of listeners..

Welcome to all of us aboard this brand new forum

Pierre

Hello community,

I am Steve Atkins, also a grandfather of four, and my semi-retirement project is to get a station on-line that I'd listen to and follows my philosophy.

I will have been in commercial broadcasting (along the west coast of the US) for 50 years soon. So I'm what we call an old dog learning some new tricks (when it comes to today's streaming techniques). In the past decade, I've been doing production and voice work from home, so the average radio station studios and methods have taken on some foreign looking processes.

I discovered Radionomy a couple of years ago and have kept an eye on the progress while attempting to learn a (free) linux based automation system, in my spare time. Due to my learning curve, the stability isn't quite there yet so Radionomy looks best for me at this point. I especially resonate with the suggestion that I can concentrate on programming and let Radionomy take care of the streaming, etc. Now the next concern will be learning my way around WordPress for a web site.

My station: since "radio" now has global capabilities via the internet, I plan to embrace the concept by periodically featuring the music of different countries. How do you justify that? In the theater of my mind, I simply gather a few dozen friends and musicians who'd like to cruise the world on a luxurious mega-yacht and stop by interesting spots to sample the local food and music. Now my lifelong collection of music, interviews and sound effects will have an outlet. Kind of a Jazz Cruise all year long. It may not be commercially viable, but then that's the beauty of today's opportunities!

I can't help wonder if I might find some singing and/or speaking voice talent, in other languages than English, that would help authenticate my international flavor. If such a thing is permissible, I'd gladly reciprocate with voice or production for your station as well. Or just suggest outlets you've used. Let me know what you think. And thanks for making me feel welcome!

Welcome aboard! I hope you enjoy the voyage.
I can certainly help you with wordpress and self hosting if you want to go down that road and advise you on certain aspects of radio promotion that are effective enough to at least keep the station alive.
I can't provide the exotic foreign voices unless you include Scotland in that category !

Hello Stuart,

Already in the first, we have the youth that we want to give us.
You should also know that the music give us wings to stay young ....
I am too a grandfather of two adorable little boys, and the father of a 17 year old who lives with me here in Taiwan.
Not to mention I am also retired.
Thank you to Radionomy for accepting as old .....
Have a nice day.
Chris (Taiwan)

Thanks Stuart, I appreciate your generousity; I just may need your help. Didn't mean to take so long getting back, but (at his point) this is a weekend project. Good to hear from everyone in or near my generation!

Hello folks,

My name is George i am from Los Angeles, CA and I am brand new to radio broadcasting altogether. I just launched my radio station about 7 months ago as a hobby because I needed something to do. It quickly became a passion and something I could be proud of. I started running my station on another hosting site and paying my own royalties etc and my listeners and facebook fans quickly grew. however this became very costly as most of you probably know a new station like mine does not make any revenue. I was afraid that I would have to abandon my new found passion but I found Radionomy and so far I am extremely happy and excited at the new challenge.

My station plays hits from the 90's & now in a variety of genres. Thank you all for the warm welcome.
