What can we do to "opt out" of commercial's with content type that obviously are NOT appropriate for our station genre?? Or how / who can we complain to?

Specifically, we run an oldies/easy-listening/beautiful-music station ("97five") and try to present an aura of relaxation and classiness for an elder community (think supper club, candlelight dinner, or watching sunset form your porch). But during our programs commercials have been playing to sell condoms -- boldly mentioning the word "sex" multiple times, and suggesting they are enable the user to have "variety" in partners.

This just doesn't fit our listener's interest, at all.

I get that it "pays the bills", but what is Radionomy's official position on ad types and where do they draw the line?

Best Regards,
ken

When listenership drops so low they can't pay the bills.

I TOTALLY AGREE. THERE IS NO PLACE FOR THAT "TROJAN MAN" COMMERCIAL ON MY RADIO STATION EITHER. PLEASE REMOVE IT; IT IS OFFENSIVE.

100% with you. That Trojan man commercial just becomes another issue that alongside technical issues with the platform, just kills every effort to keep a decent radio project running.
Radionomy, any thoughts?

If I were a company that has a product/service to sell, and I wanted to pay money to advertise my product/service, why would I pay Targetspot/Radionomy money to advertise my product/service to a demographic that I would get zero return for my advertisement dollars? Anybody at Radionomy have an answer to that question? It makes no logical sense.

When do you understand the entire business plan of the RN group?

Targetspot and RN belong to the same group.
Radio stations that no longer exist are linked to Jamendo. (also from the RNgroup)
It doesn't really matter to them, whether they get the dollars from targetpot, jamendo or RN.

So this commercial is on air as long as MR. Trojan pays the bills.

Ummmm, you sidestepped the question. Why would Trojan or anybody else pay money to RN for them to air commercials to a demographic that WILL NOT buy their product? Isn't that a waste of their advertising dollars?

"When do you understand the entire business plan of the RN group?" When do I? Probably never.

"Targetspot and RN belong to the same group." I understand that, but what does that have to do with my question?
"Radio stations that no longer exist are linked to Jamendo. (also from the RNgroup)" This has NOTHING to do with my question.
"It doesn't really matter to them, whether they get the dollars from targetpot, jamendo or RN." This too is irrelevant.

"So this commercial is on air as long as MR. Trojan pays the bills." Yes, Trojan will continue to waste their advertising dollars to pay for commercials that are aired to demographics that WILL NOT buy their product. My point exactly.

Please try to send an e-mail to support@targetspot.com regarding your concerns (Lodging a complaint about the advertiser/why, Station name, time you heard the ads, where you were when you heard them). This has worked in the past to reduce or mitigate these types of ads. That said, I haven't heard a single Trojan advertisement today on any of my properties, so this could be good news.
