If this is not addressed by Radionomy, then I can only surmise there is not interest in moving forward with attracting a larger audience. Larger audience equals more ad dollars since they are based on Cost Per Thousand impressions... so it translate to more income almost immediately, hence the revenue necessary to pay additional royalty is generated to pay the fee increases. It shouldn't be an issue. It's a math problem.
While what you said is basic economics for an outfit like Radionomy you need to realize that there will initially be a big increase in listeners but advertising revenues will lag or possibly never recover the increased financial requirements from an increased audience. Radionomy will need the cash upfront to to handle an increased audience. I believe this is more than a settled lawsuit. I think it is primarily an economic one with a secondary issue being a political one between Radionomy and Tunein.
Will they ever be able to resolve both issues? Who knows. But I would not count on Radionomy & Tunein to work together any time soon.
