hey everyone, my station has only been up and running a few weeks but im finding it near impossible to share here in the states. I know that has a lot to do with the sony lawsuit but i can't seem to find a way to get my station heard by more than just close friends due to lack of available apps and the fact that i dont have enough listening hours to be picked up by orange radio. Nobex will not stream radionomy stations to android users through google play and it seems extremely hard to get folks to listen through just their web browser. i know a lot of broadcasters here are from countries in Europe but are there any new broadcasters in the states that have figured out a way to get your station out there? Anyone having similar issues who had successful stations that have gone down since the various apps allowing the streams discontinued streaming until further notice? just trying to avoid the station being deleted after not reaching the 130 hrs a day in 9 months after taking months to upload music and set up. Any advice is welcome, thank you and it is greatly appreciated.

To get nobex to build you an android app you have to go and pay the $25 dollars to set up an account with google and make nobex the admin. I will tell you that working with nobex is NOT easy. I applied to them on August the 2nd and finally got my android app up and going a week ago. Also I am having trouble with them to get my iOS app going. They say it takes 10 to 15 days and I am now working on day 25 of business days and still do not have an app for iOS. Also I have had great success by starting a Facebook page for my radio station and putting the link out at every possible opportunity. I am an 375 Hrs/day and did it all before I got the app. Also build a website and put the links on there. Link your radio station with directories like shoutcast, streamfinder.com, liveonlineradio.net. The best advertisement you can have is word of mouth and a great program and format for you station.

I hope this helps.

No problem. Just keep at it. Contact Cait at Nobex and she will walk you through on how to get the android app going. Streamfinder.com and shoutcast.com and liveonline.net has been a huge help to me so be sure to get listed on there. What is your format?

Go to my Facebook page and you can kind of see how we do it on there. Riding Point Radio. Also give my station a listen and see if you can get some pointers off of it.

Thanks definitely will do, my format is modern rock, a lot of alternative rock from the 90s til now but i try to mix in songs that just dont got played on commercial radio anymore, songs that got radio play 20 years ago but seemed to have vanished, mixed with all the songs people know

i cant figure out how to get my station onto shoutcast, the site seems to be linked to radionomy, i know they have the same owners but when i go to make a station it tells me that the name is already taken... yes its taken by me and my station, how the hell do you get your stream to work on shoutcast from radionomy when they are basically the same thing but not transferable?

There should be an option to link your station instead of start a station. It will give you a place to add you URL.
