"We inform you that Radionomy will stop its activity
in the United States as of May 31, 2019."

I'm sure all broadcasters/producers got the message this morning.
Not all that surprising.

Isn't this what we were all waiting for? For better or for worse, I migrated five minutes after receiving the email.

Yes, it's back to square one again.

I'd be interested in hearing what you and other long-term broadcasters plan to do given the unfortunate circumstances concerning the US Radionomy shutdown.

Not exactly square one. As promised in the email, I just clicked one button and logged into the shoutcast rmo. My station still plays from both itunes and my website player. All my files, boxes, plannings, etc are all there. So, we have a year to contemplate the future of our stations...

And during that year you must pay the US royalty fees. (SoundExchange, ASCAP, BMI and SESAC.

Yes, you do. There's a grace period during the transition (an exemption for testing and proof of concept) but if you go too long without paying, someone will eventually notice. You would then likely initially get a cease and desist order demanding shutdown of your radio station on a timely basis, unless your station is really big, in which case they may seek immediate remedies. To be legal, rates start at $59.50/mo at places like http://www.streamlicensing.com/.

Angry obviously because I work so hard on this just to have the rug ripped out from under me once again. I’m looking forward to quitting

We'll probably wait until the end of May if we migrate to Shoutcast since the Radionomy shutoff date is May 31, 2019. It also gives Radionomy time to work out any migration issues that may occur.

We'll be evaluating all of our options in the meantime.

Seems to me the SoudExchange minimum fee of $500 would cover my station. Even at the $59 rate for streamlicenses, if I can monetize my station in shoutcast, it should cover that amount (barely).

Last I checked with Soundexchange, SteamLicensing.com wasn't paying them. Have they become compliant?
