Hi folks

My name is Tunde Olashore and I live in England. I started my radio station - mistaGROOVE Radio - on Radionomy last month. The music styles covered are old skool Soul, Funk, Jazz, Disco, Neo-Soul, Reggae, Afrobeat, Highlife, & Juju.

I have always had a passion for music. I started DJing at house parties back in 1980 before venturing into nightclubs in the mid 80s and finally branching into radio broadcasting in 1995. Since then I have presented shows on various radio stations and I feel Blessed that I now run my own radio station.

It's a great feeling knowing that music lovers from around the world are listening to my new radio station.

God Bless

Hello, I'm Zach and I just started on your site today. I'm actually interning at a live radio station right now with 5 different call numbers, 2 AM (News Radio and Classic Country) and 3 FM (Hot AC, Today's Country, and Soft AC) in a pretty mediocre area. Just trying to get in as much experience as I can and have something solid for potential employers to look at.

Right now I'm trying my hand and Hot Adult Contemporary hits with my online station "The Shack" and have been trying to put together something with more new, relevant medium-high tempo hits in the morning, with more nostalgic medium tempo hits in the middle of the day, picking it up and getting a little fresher in the afternoon, then slowing down to low tempo stuff by 7-8 until 5am.

Anyway, expect to see a lot of me on here as I plan on spending at least a few hours everyday improving my station and figuring out the website, I can't wait to learn how I can stream live!

Just wanted to drop by and say 'hello'!

I'm Alex and currently run a station on external hosting. It's been going pretty well but obviously the licencing can be a burden. I was contacted by Radionomy about bringing that station over here so I thought I would take a look around before I did.

On that station I'm currently streaming live from a Mac using Megaseg and Nicecast which are rock solid. I love Megaseg and everything you can do with it.

I've just started All Groove Radio on here after trying to get to grips with the RMO since December. I think I've got to grips with it now and the station is playing (well apart from the recent server issues we've had which are a concern I must admit).

Anyway, I've been looking on the board for a while so thank you to everyone who's put advice up, it's been really helpful.

Hope to be around a lot whilst I'm trying to decide whether to bring my other station here. Jury's out at the moment as there seems to be a lot of annoying little problems that need solving for a good experience.

All the best
Alex

Hi there,

my name is Jose and I'm a 30 something guy from Spain who's been obsessed with boybands since I was fifteen. My dream was to be part of one one day (how stupìd this sounds now!). Anyway, I got to see some of the biggest bands in the 90s live is small showcases in Spain before they became big. I remember seeing the Backstreet Boys in a club in Valencia. I knew them because I used to watch them on VIVA and MTV before many people had access to satellite TV in my country. I also saw Worlds Apart live in a mall during my university years.
I've got quite a big collection of CDs (and even some vinyls) of some 90s bands such as New Kids On The Block, Take That, East 17, The Boyz, Boyzone, Worlds Apart, 911, NYSNC or Caught in The Act.
I really don't enjoy the new bands such as One Direction or Union J that much, but I understand that they're huge and may (or may not) attract a big number of listeners.
So far I'm playing 95% of the music in English and I've included a couple of bands from Spain, Mexico and Puerto Rico who sing in Spanish. My idea is to include bands who sing in other languages as well. Do you think that hearing something in French, Dutch, Serbian or Portuguese may repel some listeners? Do you think I should remove the little music I have in Spanish as well?

Drop by and share your thoughts.
Thanks.

With many months on Radionomy, I decided to introduce myself and my stations.

My name is Jon. I go by the name 'Cheeze' or 'Cheezenub.' your choice. I operate a niche group of four stations under the banner "The Anime Classics Radio Network." Three of these stations are hosted here on Radionomy. My studio is located in a middle class neighborhood in the quiet city of Las Vegas, Nevada in the USA.

I started my internet "empire" in September of 2013 with one station. That station is not hosted through Radionomy and became my flagship station of the group: Anime Classics Radio One. It is home to my live show on Sunday evenings (it is on hiatus for the next couple weeks since I am waiting a new broadcasting computer).

My Radionomy station are:
Anime Classics Radio 2 - Plays the most recent opening and ending songs from Japanese anime shows. All Day, Every Day.
Anime Classics Radio MOE - Offers only the happiest and cutest songs from anime shows. Get your MOE on!
Anime Classics Radio RETRO - Playing opening and ending songs from classics anime shows that aired before 2005.

I have a fifth station but it is only used for broadcasting special programs and is not hosted on Radionomy.
There are plenty internet stations that play anime related music and I listened to many of them. I realized that most of the songs these stations played were basically ripped form CDs and put on these stations with no indication of what show they were from. So, I decided that most people who like anime and anime related music(anisong) wanted to hear the songs that they recognized, the open and ending songs from the shows. So, that is why I started my internet broadcast "empire."

I enjoy internet broadcasting but I like to keep things small and personal. I decided to become involved with internet broadcasting as a way to connect to others around the world.and Radionomy as helped be achieve that goal.

Hello Everyone!

I've been on Radionomy for a few months now and to be honest, never had a need to post here on the forum, the information on here is complete enough to answer the questions I've had so far!

The station I have on Radionomy is called The Cockpit, a mix between alternative-rock and progressive-rock. The station is managed and run by my brother and I, thus the merge between the alternative and progressive genres. We are also rabid fans of the local music scene in our home province of Saskatchewan, so we have a healthy dose of local content as well. We are both active musicians in the local scene so have some first hand knowledge of it.

We chose the name The Cockpit based on my nick-name and on-air handle, "Pilot" with the entire station taking influence and direction from an aviation theme. We're still working in that concept, but it will be including more samples of aviation sounds, ambiences of cockpits and priority shown to songs and artists that have an aviation theme.

We also host a one hour live music show on our local community radio (equivalent to college radio in the USA), 91.3 FM in Regina SK at 11PM on Thursday nights where we get a more focused chance to expand on the aviation theme. We've used both iterations of The Cockpit to expand on and improve the other. It's been a good marriage of projects.

We manage a webpage/blog at http://www.thecockpit.ca and have spent a lot of time getting the station listed on directories, promoting etc. Radionomy has been a great way to learn the ropes and we're getting better and better at it each day!
