If this is not addressed by Radionomy, then I can only surmise there is not interest in moving forward with attracting a larger audience. Larger audience equals more ad dollars since they are based on Cost Per Thousand impressions... so it translate to more income almost immediately, hence the revenue necessary to pay additional royalty is generated to pay the fee increases. It shouldn't be an issue. It's a math problem.

While what you said is basic economics for an outfit like Radionomy you need to realize that there will initially be a big increase in listeners but advertising revenues will lag or possibly never recover the increased financial requirements from an increased audience. Radionomy will need the cash upfront to to handle an increased audience. I believe this is more than a settled lawsuit. I think it is primarily an economic one with a secondary issue being a political one between Radionomy and Tunein.

Will they ever be able to resolve both issues? Who knows. But I would not count on Radionomy & Tunein to work together any time soon.

Neither soon nor later. Never Radionomy stations will be on the Tunein directory.

When you say "never", could you point me to the post or notice here on the Forum that is the official word from Radiononmy that says "never on TuneIn"?

The user voiceoverguy41 says it above:

"I received a response from TuneIn today and sadly to say, they simply said that they will no longer allow stations hosted and transmitted by Radionomy."

It is known by far that Tunein will never admit Radionomy stations. I also wrote to them a week ago and no response. And the few people that get a response, it is for saying what you see in the message above.

It is not a question of an official communication, it is a question that Tunein has said NO repeatedly.

You do not have to wait for a communication from Radionomy, you have to wait for a communication from Tunein, and Tunein says no. If they say no, Radionomy has nothing to say.

I think Jazzguy was questioning your use of "never" as in its definition as "at no time in the past or future; not ever". Obviously they were listed in the past, and TuneIn have not said that this situation will last for all time.

I believe that you were using the word "never" under its definition as "not under any circumstance", so you were quite correct in that usage.

I'll just crawl back into my dictionary now. :)

For those of you new to this, here is a reminder of what Radionomy said to RAIN News back in May 2016 about this matter:

Quote:
RAIN News has learned that Radionomy has pulled its stations from TuneIn’s U.S. listening audience, over the cost of music licensing under the new Copyright Royalty Board (CRB) royalty rates. Radionomy told RAIN News that the company asked TuneIn to geo-block the U.S. from Radionomy streams. In an email exchange, Radionomy emphasized that the blocking action is for the U.S. only, and that its streaming business is not challenged by licensing costs in other territories.

Radionomy indicated that its shut-off on the TuneIn platform was a “temporary measure,” and said that it is engaged in discussions with music rights-holders about the value of small webcasting. The company’s formal statement expressed confidence in a resumption of U.S. streams via TuneIn “when a positive change with the U.S. rates is applied.”

I only say that Radionomy is not part of Tunein. The same the opposite. Radionomy has not bought Tunein, they are different companies. It is not the same as Radionomy and Winamp or Shoutcast, those belonging to Radionomy.

Under my point of view, I continue saying that they will never admit RAdionomy stations, and again, that is the email from Tunein that Radionomy producers have received from them.

There is only a hope with Tunein: our stations are not heard there but each station page on Tunein shows our data: station country, name, and of course website. If the possible listeners of Tunein are intelligent( I don't doubt it) they can click our website and listen from it.
