I'm not sure where to find this information on TorontoCast site. When you upload your songs, does their system automatically encode to your selected bitrate, or do you have to encode every song yourself?
I didn’t set anything beyond selecting the package with the top bitrate (192kb) I wanted. The default stream that Everest Cast created was 192kb. Everything I uploaded seems to be stored there in their original format (320kb), based on the size. I read somewhere that the conversion is performed during streaming, so that one uploaded copy, which should be at the highest rate you might ever want to use, is sufficient for any streaming rate.

I have moved one of my stations over to TorontoCast and will do so with the other. So far it's been a great experience. Their responsiveness to questions and issues has been very fast. Not waiting around for May 31. :)

What bitrate did you go with?

I'm curious as to why you selected Everest Cast. I was thinking of using CentovaCast, as it's been around longer with good support.

The only multi-station packages were on Everest Cast. Between that and the amount of storage and number of listeners, that 192kb package looked like a good fit and price.

Makes sense. But I think I'll go with a single station CentovaCast. I don't have any immediate plans for additional stations.

Will I lose my place in iTunes if I move to TorontoCast?
iTunes is still about 27% of my station players (now under Shoutcast).

Yes, you would lose your place if you migrated over to anything else. iTunes is no longer accepting new stations, modifications, or for that matter, even requests for deletion. It is likely just going to die on the vine and/or suddenly disappear at some point... perhaps (conjecture) this fall when the next OS versions come out.

Yes, it appears both Everest and Centova servers display album art from AutoDJ mode.

It looks like there's a workaround with Centova Cast though. If the same track is uploaded to Centova Cast with album art in AutoDJ mode and the same track is later played live with SAM Broadcaster, then the album art will be visible in Centova's widgets when broadcasting live.

In theory, if the producer uploads their entire library to Centova Cast, album images will always be shown whether broadcasting with Centova's AutoDJ or SAM Broadcaster.
