I have got an E-mail from stream Licensing LLC

this is what they had wrote:
If you are on the plan where they pay everything, you don't need us and we can't license you, (because we can't get license data from their server for you, and because you don't need us, they are taking care of the royalties.) If you are on the plan where they pay everything, I will refund your money and close your account, and maybe down the road, if you get on a different plan where you need us you can come back. Please confirm you are on the plan where they pay everything, then I will refund and close your account.

my question is Radionomy do you guys pay royalties to the artist and what music licensing company are you guys affiliated with?
I wan't to know can we use BMI music and ASCAP,SOCAN,SOUND EXCHANGE,SEASEC I want to know which licensing company you guys are with for know which catalogues I can pull music from.

J.A.R.,

This is a question I am sure many would like the answer to. Why would you PM him in a discussion board? Can you please post the answer to this question, or must I ask the same question over the board as well?

Hello,

Sorry! Yes, Radionomy pays all royalties through SABAM. SABAM, in turn, pays-out through its various affiliates worldwide.

More info: http://www.sabam.be/sites/default/files ... 6.2014.pdf

Hi I have been doing some research and looking into this service, I used to be with Loudcity way back in the day lol, when they folded, so did I

So low and behold I find Radionomy. and I understand they affiliate with SABAM.

My question is:

Since I am in the US, I would fall under SoundExchange, and I see that SABAM is not affiliated with SX.

I am confused. Please help.

I also checked the SoundExchange website and found this list of digital streaming services that have paid royalties to them: http://www.soundexchange.com/wp-content ... 9-2015.pdf. I was very surprised to see Radionomy not on this list, since I found Radionomy listed on an earlier SoundExchange report here: http://www.sagaftra.org/files/sag/docum ... 4-2013.pdf.

I am also confused. Coincidentally, my station is scheduled to go off the air since I have not reached my 130 hours/day average by the 9-month anniversary of being on the air. I plan to try again and start a new station but after seeing the recent SoundExchange report I need to seriously consider whether or not I would be able to do so without having to pay additional licensing fees. I need to know for sure that Radionomy will indeed cover ALL of the music licensing royalty fees, as they advertise on their website, INCLUDING SoundExchange. This is especially for stations in the US, in which my station is based. I will say that having Radionomy cover the music licensing royalties is what drew me to creating a station here in the first place, since I was able to create such a station for free and was assured that I would not have to pay additional royalties for the music being played on the station. Now I am not so certain anymore.

I have been going back and forth with Ascap and Sesac and they tell me if I have a my own site with players, I have to pay! If your only on Radionomy platform, your OK! And if I'm correct when reading Radionomy agreement they specify until you reach Premium, they don't pay. I had been paying my own fees in the last year before 365 went dark. Tomorrow I am paying my own fees and covering myself and my own destiny..................... :D

Jimmyj, I understand where you are coming from. However, this is regarding whether or not Radionomy pays all the royalty and licensing fees to ALL appropriate organizations responsible for paying the artists, copyright holders and record labels for all countries where the station plays, such as ASCAP, BMI, SESAC and SoundExchange. I understand ASCAP, BMI and SESAC cover the written form of the song while SoundExchange covers the actual produced sound recording. In other words, each time a song is played over the station, the artists, record labels, producers and other copyright holders associated with the song must be paid royalties from SoundExchange. Without Radionomy paying these royalty fees, however, the station is technically playing these songs illegally without the necessary coverage.
