Could some sort of counter be put on RMO to show how many times individual tracks have been played from the time it is first uploaded. This would help in scheduling lesser played tracks to be used in the playlists.

Some really good suggestions here, some that I'd rather not experience.

I had made a post previously in another section about improvements tot he RMO, I'll list those and a few others that I've thought up.

1) To be able to edit mix pointers and fields on the same screen at the same time. Switching screens takes twice as long to complete the task.

2) When done editing, not have the screen refresh & lose any filters on the list, or jump to the top of the list. Scrolling down a hundred or so tracks (twice per song currently - see point #1) wastes a lot of time.

3) Have Radionomy import more tags when you upload songs. My music library is meticulously tagged, so having Genre, Album Art, etc. automatically appear (like Artist, Title & BPM already do) would be a huge time saver, plus editing tags offline before upload is a lot easier & quicker.

4) Instead of the RMO compressor, maybe utilize Replay Gain tags. I get a nasty pop of digital clipping on some songs if there's a loud transient with the current compression system.

5) Ability to include the advertising breaks in the clocks, so we can plan each hour better. (re: jingles & VT adjacent to filler/adverts)

So far, I think you guys are really close with what you're trying to do with Radionomy, but a few changes to make it easier for us on our end would make a lot of people happy! A few things that made me choose Radionomy:

Ease of use, clocks, online hosting of audio.

Thanks team... hope you can consider some of these suggestions!

One more issue I've come across, happens when copying boxes between stations. When I copy a box, I lose all the mix pointers and fields I have filled in for every song in the box. This is a huge problem for people just starting to build an audience and may need to copy everything in the event of not hitting target audiences and losing their station.

I'm currently setting mix pointers for 800 songs and it's taking me a great deal of spare time. I don't want to have to do this every time I copy music to a new station.

Thanks

Update: I built a new station today, and now all my music presets and new tags are copying over to this new station. If it's always been this way, I apologise for posting that it wasn't working. (But I'm super happy it is now!)

I'd like to suggest an option to allow the Planner to select a clock at random from specified possibilities during a certain time in a Day Template.

For example, the Day Template might play "Clock A" for an hour and then randomly choose between "Clock B" or "Clock C" for the next hour. There could be a control to set the percentage that each clock would be chosen. Maybe they would be 50-50, or 60-40, or 70-30 or whatever.

Please see the attachment.

I think there are enough options available at the moment. Why not set up twenty or thirty templates with different clocks and then pick them for each day in a non-sequential order.

Because the way you suggest, I'd have to make a different day template for each variation.

I would suggest a few small things that irritates me the most at this current RMO version:

  • It would be great if I could collapse the "Reminder : The Radio Station Producer agrees that ..." alert box at the top of the audio boxes contents. It actually takes the most area of the content list section expecially in Smart Boxes where it makes me impossible to view my list contents beneath the filters on a normal laptop screen (1366x768). Or at least a collapsable filter box would help a bit, but making the whole section scrollable (not just the list contents) would help the most.
  • At the manual editing of the generated program on a 1366px wide screen I actually don't see the starting times, their ends are chopped. It's not a big problem at a song title, but time is not really something that you can guess without seeing the whole of it. That column should not be chopped, timing is very important in planning.
  • It has been already mentioned and I also support it: It would be great if the site would not reload at every single change. Editing song's infos should be done in a popup box then after saving the list should just refresh the edited row in the list and that's it. I know that it's much easier to work with forms in the traditional way, but the user experience is very bad this way, the site reloads 4-5 times when I finally change a single thing and I have to scroll and set all filters again and again.
  • The song's info viewer box should contain all of the set data, not just title, artist, duration, year and tempo, but also the tags, style etc.
  • As album art/band image upload is disabled for the songs, it automatically puts an image for them, but sometimes it just puts a totally wrong picture there. I mean the bands who have similar name, sometimes I get the wrong one's image to the song. I have already experienced it, however, most of the time it just puts no image at all even if another song by the same artist already has one. If we could not upload images any more, an option would be great to choose which image should go for which artist. A list manager for artists would be great where we can edit their name and image for them, and songs should get the artists from there.
  • A bulk editing option would be great for the songs expecially when the album title data will be implemented. If I have 2000 songs, it's quite time consuming to set the same thing for all of them. It would be useful for also tagging the songs, set their style etc. Bulk selecting is already there, why not just add bulk editing for certain song data.
  • When I hover on a row of a song list, its options appear, but at the same time they cover some information of that track (year, upload date) that is quite important.
  • Instead of the Share column on the song lists, Tags column would be much more helpful. That Share column has no use at all, sharing can be done from the hover options and that Facebook icon in that Share column becomes impossible to click on hovering the row.
  • It's also already been mentioned before and I need it, too: It would be great to see that the songs how many times has been played since their upload or in a certain period of time. As I know, these information can be obtained through API, but it would be very useful if there will be such a statistics in the RMO, too.

I hope there will be some improvement at least at the highlighted points, they would save a lot of time for us.
Thanks. ;)

Dear Team,

In my humble opinion.... we don't need any of this.

What you already is fine when it works.

We just need the RMO to work consistently the way you designed it.

We need the capibility to broadcast live.

Most of all - we need consistent and timely communication from you when things go wrong so that we can work around you.

This live broadcasting matter is an outright disaster.

First - you took it down with absolutely no notice which resulted in a real embarrassment for our station.locally. We were in the middle of a live broadcast involving a room full of community leaders!!

Then you gave us a timeline to fix it that you have now missed by nearly a week!

Just deliver on the service that you promised and don't mess with it.

Hope these comments are helpful. They are intended to be,

Joe Bourdow

Im not sure if this has been mentioned before but I'll say it anyway. I think you should have one "save all" button when you are planning for the month. It was my understanding that when you press the "generate all" button for the month it should save as well but this does not alI the time so you have go in and save each one which is time consuming.

You can easily extend your planning to the other days by dragging your mouse between any two days and see the black arrow appear. Hold and drag to bring that programming into more days.
