love the look and clean design a lot.

One thing I would do is try to get the player on the same page as the recently played tracks. ... and honestly, I would put the player on the main page with a pop-out function. If I surf your site's pages, the player stops when I navigate away. I guess I think that the player is the most important thing on the site & I would put it front & center.

I would also link directly to other places to listen & your apps. My experience has been you have to somewhat spoon-feed visitors, and telling them to search for your apps or other places to listen wont get it done as readily as handing it to them.

good luck with your site & station!

L

Hi guys,

I just started my radio a few weeks ago and i'm pretty new to this but very motivated. I was hoping someone could take a look at my two websites, both of which are quite similar and give me some feedback on how I can improve and what could be added to further engage the audience. Here are the two websites:

http://www.thevibetribe.weebly.com
http://www.melbournebouncebangers.weebly.com

Cheers,
TheVibeTribe

Hi TheVibeTribe,

I noticed no one had replied to your post, so I thought I'ld take a shot. First off, I think the layout of both sites are fine, straight and to the point. You give listeners a clear picture on how to listen with the player. My suggestion is more coming from the SEO (Search Engine Optmization) side of things. I noticed your using weebly which is cool. I would maybe think about getting a yourdomain.com (example thevibetribe.com) and using domain forwarding and masking to point to your weebly.com installation. What I mean by masking is in the web address bar is the listener will only see yourdomain.com instead of yourdomain.weebly.com. Also find a good domain registrar that will allow you to create key words for yourdomain.com. After you create your key words you can submit yourdomain.com to search engines like google, yahoo, etc. If you could add a little bit more written content to your weebly sites that would probably help with search engine crawling as well.

I have a great domain registrar I go through. You can PM me if you want the info. To give you an example of all this you can go to thebig80s.net
Its forwarded and masked to my wordpress installation at foxvalleyradio.com which I have separate pages for all of my stations.

Thank you for looking. It is very basic, I am planning on building it on wordpress after I get the API stuff figured out. Right now all my listeners are using zef.playtheradio.com, but once I get the mechanics assurance of the behind the scenes stuff, like the just played list thing then I will worry about the design and stuff. Thank you for looking and your input.

Also, how did you do your "The last 25 tracks played:"? Thats what I need!

Hey, I can help you to empower the site :D
