I've noticed that if I am not logged in to Radionomy, my station stops playing. If I log in and become the "first" listener, it will continue running and I get more listeners. I assumed the purpose of a platform like Radionomy was so the station owner would not have to stay tethered, it would just simply continue broadcasting until I tell it to stop. Is this normal?

It's not a"logging in" thing. Rather, it's having at least one listener. If no one is listening your radio will be shut down. That save a lot of computer time for Radionomy. And the first listener doesn't have to be you. If your radio is "sleeping" it will "wake up" as soon as a listener tunes in.

Well, that's kinda what I am getting at. If I am logged out and let's say I try to listen from the app on my phone.....nothing. I can click play until the cows come home and it won't engage unless I physically log in and become a listener from my dashboard.

OK. I could duplicate that problem. Listening on my cell phone (Samsung Galaxy, Radionomy app) worked when I was also listening on my desktop. When I then closed the desktop program (Firefox) the phone kept playing.

But I have no idea why this happens. You're going to need help from a moderator or administrator like Domi.
BTW, your Radionomy web page is at https://www.radionomy.com/en/radio/1023wow-radio/index. It would be good to put that in your forum profile. See the User Control Panel.

This might get attention more quickly if it's posted in the Technical Support forum, otherwise, yeah, I can duplicate the problem too. Overall, the Radionomy app seems to be fickle, though. When used in a car with varying cell phone signal, the feed often has to be stopped and restarted in the app - it's almost like there is little or no buffering going on... this could be related depending on what sort of in-app timeout there is... i.e. if it's greater than a couple seconds to start the RN feed with zero listeners, it might exceed the app's buffer...

Hello,

If the station is in a sleep mode (no listener) and if the first listener tries to connect from an iPhone or an iPad, iOS considers there is a timeout.
I can't reproduce that issue on an Android device or on a computer.
Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do, it depends on iOS.

Well that explains that....the devices I am having that issue on are Apple. ;)
