Until TuneIn pulled the plug on Radionomy stations a few days ago I used their embeddable player on my radio website due to the serious bugs and instabilities of Radionomy's own embeddable player and LeTopTop's player.

Now that TuneIn is gone I spent almost a day looking for alternatives. After much digging and testing I finally found one that I can heartily recommend to all Radionomy users: Wimpy player.

http://www.wimpyplayer.com/docs/streaming.radionomy.html

Wimpy has a support package (see the link) that was specifically built to accommodate Radionomy stations and IMHO it does all that we need from an embeddable player. Plus, it is has the most customizable skin options that I've ever seen for any music player - its Skin Machine is not difficult to use and is simply AWESOME. Plus, it has the best customer support I've seen yet - the developer proptly and kindly replied to my inquiries and made changes to accommodate requests. With its latest iteration the Wimpy player is even able to reliably display a custom "Advertisement" message when Radionomy ads come in, something that even the TuneIn player was not able to do.

I can only recommend Wimpy, but naturally I'd also be interested if you had some other suggestions.

First off, gyepi, thank you so much for the fantastic tip!

Like you, we've been looking for a more stable player that will also display the album art on our site without truncated tag info and we are thrilled to have a good solution for this.

We have the "example.html" page working properly with our Radionomy stream. Once you get the customized html, what were the exact modifications you made to the generated custom code in order to get it working properly? Something isn't quite right yet on our end.

Thanks again for the help!

Ok, we've got the customized player working. Wow this is nice.

We're using the cora skin at 200x301 (to have album art display at 200x200) and have a couple minor issues if you can help:

(1) On the right-hand side the remaining time is showing "-23:59:59". This time is extended beyond the edge of the player. This seems like a bug.

(2) I see there's a way to disable buttons. Have you found a way to remove buttons entirely. It would be nice to remove the rewind/next buttons since they're not much use with a Radionomy stream.

I'm not affiliated with the wimpy team - if you have any bug, you can contact the guy behind it, he is very responsive.

However, I think this is what you need:

http://www.wimpyplayer.com/skins/

Choose a template which you like (I started with 041, it has what I need), and then click "Edit". A skin editor comes up, in which you can literally change all design and function aspect of the player, drag and drop buttons, sliders, etc, resize elements according to your needs, etc. I for instance completely removed the remaining time and the slider as for an online stream these are useless. After you are done you can then save this new skin and use it with the wimpy player that you installed on your page. The documentation should explain all steps!

Here is what I ended up with (see the player on the right):

Wonderful! The on-line customizer is perfect. Thanks so much!

Now if we only had a more reliable way of displaying album art and track info than the LeTopTop's player.

The player draws the album art and track info directly from the metadata of the Radionomy stream, and so any inaccuracy in that regard has that as its source..

Yes, the Wimply player does great. Everything is accurate and there is no truncation happening.

I was referring to the need for another more accurate, easy to use script (without a player) for displaying simply album art at customizable resolutions and/or artist and track info (without truncation) on a user's website with cutomizable fonts. We weren't happy with the LeTop player.

We've read about an older script called MooTools that may be a better option, but we need more info on customizing this for our needs.

I have been able to configure the player to the best I can do in the limited time. I am having issue getting album art of each music being played.
Is there any pointer to where to look to get that working, please. Thanks
