I started on maybe 3 months ago on Radionomy and I'm almost at 130 hours a day.

Here is how I did it. It was a lot of work.

1. Listed the station on my website as a post to introduce it.
2. Contacted some other stations and did cross promotions
3. Got pod casts with interviews
4. Shared what I was listening to on my social media sites, (Don't do it too much or some people will block you)
5. My station can play from anywhere on my site but it's muted meaning people have to click the play button. But in my chat room it plays when you go in there and people can chat and listen to music.
6. Contacted Music Promoters and gave them free ads and they advertised our radio station.

Check us out we have been played in 92 Countries

I think that is awesome ... Now I am confused we do all of that. I am still not where we need to be. We also do live shows and have a great following. Is it your quick stats that you read right? It has to say 130 Right? I am so confused. We have so many followers yet why is it not showing ....

The average internet radio listener only tunes in for 35-40 minutes a day. Some may listen for hours and others may just listen just for a few minutes while in the shower or getting changed. That means you need about 250 listeners to tune in EVERY DAY to average 130 hours a day, and because even very regular listeners do not, in reality, always tune in every day the chances are that you will need 500 regular listeners. Also you have to attract new listeners constantly to replace those who move on. When you look at it that way it shows what a large audience you need.

Indeed.... so basically it is almost impossible to have 500 listeners continuously correct? Thank you very much for your reply . So where I am up for the 9 month next month and probably will be taken down I should probably start another station correct

No. They don't have to be continuously listening. It is just a fact that most of those 500 will only listen for part of the day. You only need 6 listening continuously to meet the target, but not one member of your audience will listen 24/7 to the radio!

Sometimes no matter what you do, it simply won't work. There is simply too much competition.

Yes, if you want to continue, now is the time to set up another station (but maybe not put it on-air yet).

Once you create the station you can copy your music boxes directly from one station to the other, which is great.

The TLH deadlines (12h/day after 3 months, 130h/day after 9 months) start ticking down as soon as you generate your first planning. So it's up to you whether to have a few weeks overlap to transition listeners, or wait until the last minute to extend your time. Remember that you'll have to change the streaming URL at any sites where your station is listed.

That is where you are wrong. You have to be creative and when you do live shows make them interesting.

I have reached 146 hours a day for 30 days and now I seem to have more listeners on all the time now monitoring it though out the week to see if it continues.

Did it in just over 2 1/2 months
