I've been going like about 1 months and 3 days and I'm on 24hrs per day. To be at that figure so soon is great for me. I did use Radionomy's twitter script but when I posted something manually, Twitter locked my account for spamming so I took off the autoscript and now use TweetDeck to monitor whats going on and what's trending to try and capitalise. I did have a facebook page but saw it's better to create a group. I'm unsure if they get a notification when I post or it's on off chance they check...

I have redesigned my website so everything is on one page. The player is on a pop-out page allowing navigation around music posts. I have apps on Blackberry, Google Play & iOS all in circulation. I'm spread the news to my 13 people in college class but some of them aren't very techy haha.

I'd love to get a jingle at some point but a bit nervous over recent issues...

I also do special selected nights. Mon & Thu - Rock Nights, Fri & Sat - Dance Nights and Sun - Country Nights. There's also an R&B session for two hours every morning. I've tried to incorporate every type of music in the hope that at least it attract some rather than none.

I am over the 12 listening hours for the basic so now it's time to push forward with this!

The broadcasters who are getting 10,000 hours or more just blow my mind. :o How does that even happen? I have sold my soul to the devil several many times & am still nowhere near that & likely never will be.

Hi can anyone tell me, to gain more listeners is it best to go 'Live' or use the autodj?

I am promoting my station like mad got a few long standing listeners but i want the 10s and 20s etc listeners.

Going just over 2 months and on 49hrs so i,m happy but not overjoyed ,i dont think its the content ,i think it needs to be out there more .

Any suggestions on promotions would be appreciated

I haven't got to 130 hours/day yet, but I have noticed a dramatic rise in my station's TLH when I linked the music boxes to Twitter. I have a tweet sent out for every song that plays, and have received numerous retweets and likes, and gained several new followers. I've been on Radionomy only about 3 weeks, but I have greatly exceeded the 12 hours/day threshold.

Yes, I too activated the social media share on both Facebook & Twitter & my hours went up with a few days, until the stats went wonky & now I have no idea who (if anybody) is listening.

Stuck at just under 50 at about 3 months in. Heavy promotion. Best I could possibly do. Obviously I need to do better. I'm just glad some people are listening, and coming back.

Thanks for the tips johnsyk, definitely some things on there that I hadn't thought about. I totally agree with the strong brand point, my current station is hopeless for listeners as a 'local' station but I'm working on somthing at the minute, homemade website and radio player :) (I can't recommend enough making a good looking website, even if you use weebly or wix etc. although I've done it from scratch.)

Hopefully my new station does a bit better with its branding.

Thanks again.

How do you link music boxes to Twitter?

I am stuck at 30 hours 4 months in.

THANK YOU for you original post and suggestions. closely listening to your every word and i went from 24 hours a day to right now 107 hours a day in two weeks. I am not even 3 months in yet and i am projecting 130 at least by the time i do hit 3 months. I am getting quick stats of 230 a day now so my average is rising daily

NOW all you guys saying it is hard, yes it is i am putting at least 8 hours a day into this!!!!
but listen to this original poster his comments made it happen for me. YOU CAN DO IT! there is not a station here that cannot make it just use every thing offered to your benefit and my personal advice is to focus on promotion yes but focus on making your station unique MORE! it is hard getting listeners but it is even harder to get them to stay. the trick is getting them to come back. GOOD LUCK GUYS
